Fun in MI!

This weekend we met up with the Starkey's at the Dunes in MI and had a blast! The kids were in heaven, each having a playmate, we had some great laughs and we wore ourselves out having fun. It was super!

The crew at the top of the dune.
The view from the top of the dune. It's actually pretty big, see those little cars down there?
Not even the freezing water temperature could keep Annie and Katie out of the water - they loved it and had no problem with the cold temperature. The rest of us were not so brave.
Kate was a beach bum - the girl surprised us with an adventurous spirit. She liked the sand and it was funny watching her crawl around and play in it.

The old trees at the top are fun to play on and their shade creates some really cold sand to sit in - it was nice
Peter and Taylor were like two peas in a pod - they had a super time running around together
Annie and Katie were great buds too - there's a really cute picture of them on Amy's blog.
Here's the fam! Robert was reading up on the dunes and we've decided that next time we need to take a sled and try sledding down it...anyone interested?
It doesn't look as big in this picture as it feels, but it sure was fun!

Kate didn't want to miss out on the fun

Cute boys! They definitely had some funny moments over the weekend - they make great pirates

For the most part, Kate was very happy on the beach, she did not, however, like the cold water on her feet.

Welcome Home!

My little sister Mary just got home from her mission to Hong Kong - it's super to have her home! It's been fabulous to hear about her experiences, hear her Chinese and all that good stuff - welcome back!

Happy Birthday

Last week was Kate's first birthday - another blog worthy event :) We had a great time and she provided excellent entertainment when it was cake time. The other two were pretty reserved when it came to getting dirty and digging into their cakes. Kate was a little hesitant at first and really didn't want to get her hands dirty. She's creative though, she came up with a new method for eating her cake - the face plant! Yup - that girl got to enjoy her cake!

Super Biker

Happy Spring to everyone! Peter gave us good reason to post a blog this evening. Yesterday he was pretty adament that Robert take off his training wheels because he was "going to learn to ride without training wheels". Robert loved the idea and took off the wheels and they practiced for a bit (Robert broke a sweat running around with him :)). Peter did surprisingly well. At the end of the practice session, he didn't want Robert to put his training wheels back on.
As soon as Robert got home from work today, Peter had his shoes on and was ready to go again. And guess what? Just one week and a half after turning 4, he is riding without training wheels! Crazy boy!

As Robert was teaching Peter, some of the neighbor kids came out to run/ride around as well. One of our neighbor friends decided to take her training wheels off and is now cruising around without trainers as well.

Tonight another little boy decided that if Peter and the little girl were doing it, he was going to do it too and there was a third one without training wheels. I must say, it was hilarious to look out at the cul de sac and see all these parents running behind their kids helping them learn the ropes. It really was a perfect spring evening!

Breakfast of Champions

We believe you need to teach them while they are young... Kate can already identify the best cereal :)

Happy Holidays

Our Holiday break was fabulous! Tons of family time, tons of fun. Since we know what an awesome, consistent blogger I am...I figured I should just throw some pictures up quickly before it is summer! (I still want to post pictures from our awesome cousin campout...last memorial day!)

Luckily we had tons of snow (both here and in MN when we went to visit for my sister's wedding - so fun!!) - and lots of snow means lots of outside fun.

Annie is truely a snow princess - she never wants to come in!

Peter is a fan of the outside stuff too...

Robert made the annual snow cave with the kids - they LOVE it! This year he recruited help (yeah for cousins who live close!) and the finished product was great fun! However, we had a "heat wave" the next day or so and it melted into a tiny heap....so sad! Thank goodness we have since had lots more snow.

We went on a little polar express ride with the kids - they thought it was great!

Kate - sporting her normal smile! I know I'm her Mom, but she's adorable!

Ho Ho Ho! This kids were hilarious when we got to see Santa - it was the first year anyone has had any desire to sit on his lap and their comments were priceless!
